Woman beaten by Bihar cops, after video goes viral, orders for investigation

Recently, a Dalit woman was beaten by a policeman in Sursand market, the video of which later went viral. The policeman who beat him up has been identified as Inspector Raj Kishore Singh, in-charge of Sursand police station.

After the video of a woman being badly beaten by a policeman in Sursand police station area of Sitamarhi district of Bihar went viral, now orders have been given to investigate the entire matter. The accused Sursand police station in-charge has also been put on the line.

It is said that recently a Dalit woman was beaten up by a policeman in Sursand market, the video of which later went viral. The policeman who beat him up has been identified as Inspector Raj Kishore Singh, in-charge of Sursand police station.

A statement issued by the Sitamarhi district police said that a video went viral on social media on December 30. In this video a police officer is shown beating a woman with a stick. In the video, Sursand police station in-charge Singh has come to light beating a woman with a stick. In the light of the viral video and the information received, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Pupri has been directed to investigate and submit the report. In this context, Singh has been returned to Police Centre, Sitamarhi. Action will be taken after receiving the investigation report of Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Pupri.

Here, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Pupri Vinod Kumar said in a video statement that this incident is related to the kidnapping of a girl. Although the girl has been recovered, both the parties reached the police station and started fighting outside. This led to a road jam and the police used batons to disperse the crowd.
