US lend support to Canada call for India’s cooperation in probe; Australia says ‘concerning reports’, to take up issue with India

The US doubled down on its support for Canada in its ongoing diplomatic dispute with India, saying “we support Canada’s ongoing law enforcement efforts” and that it is coordinating and consulting “closely” with Ottawa.
The comments were made by US National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson in response to media reports that the US had rejected Canada’s call for a joint statement with the G7 countries due to President Joe Biden’s efforts to keep India in the US. Was rejected. Ready for any conflict or confrontation with China.
This came a day after the NSC’s spokesperson for strategic communications offered similar support for Canadians in an interview with CNN. “The reports that we have rebuked Canada in any way on this are absolutely false,” Adrienne said in a post on X.
He said, “We are coordinating and consulting with Canada on this issue. This is a serious matter and we support Canada’s ongoing law enforcement efforts. We are also in dialogue with the Government of India.”
America’s stance on this dispute is gradually becoming tough. On the day Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made explosive allegations in the Canadian Parliament linking the murder of a Khalistani activist to India, Adrienne Watson said: “We are deeply concerned about the allegations referenced by Prime Minister Trudeau. We “We remain in regular contact with our Canadian partners. It is important that the Canadian investigation moves forward and that the perpetrators are brought to justice.”
Along with America, Australia has also supported Canada. Australia said that these reports should be looked into. We believe that all countries should respect each other’s sovereignty and the rule of law. We have conveyed our concerns to top Indian officials.
The statements of senior officials and ministers of both the countries are also important because the US and Australia are Canada’s partners in the Five Eyes Alliance (an intelligence sharing mechanism between the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada). At the same time, both are also strategic partners of India.
