According to a New York Times report, the intelligence information on the basis of which Canada has held India responsible for the murder of Khalistan leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar was provided to it by American agencies. The newspaper has given this news quoting officials of western allied countries.

The newspaper said in its report that after Nijjar’s murder outside a Gurudwara in British Columbia on June 18, “the US intelligence agency provided the context to the Canadian intelligence agency from which Canada concluded India’s involvement in the case.” Removed.” Officials from two allied countries who spoke to the newspaper on condition of anonymity said that the ”most solid evidence” about the killing had been collected by Canada itself.

The report echoes claims by US Ambassador to Canada David Cohen who said Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s allegations against India were based on “intelligence shared among Five Eyes allies”. Five Eyes is a joint intelligence network of Canada, America, Britain, Australia and New Zealand. It was established in 1946.

Officials said that America was not aware of this conspiracy or India’s role in it before Nijjar’s murder. He said that if this had happened, he would have immediately informed Ottawa as part of his duty to warn. Canadian officials also warned Nijjar, but did not tell him that he was the target of a conspiracy by the Indian government, officials said.

The New York Times also tried to talk to the White House spokesperson in the matter, but he refused to comment. The report says that American officials want to maintain a balance with both the allied countries and hence are refraining from speaking on this murder.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has urged India to cooperate with Canada and ensure “accountability” in the case of Nijjar’s murder. Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the general meeting of the United Nations General Assembly, Blinken said on Friday that the US is in touch with both India and Canada. It has warm relations with India and Canada is a close ally.

“We want to see accountability,” Blinken said. It is important that the investigation runs its course and results come out.” He said Canada had shared evidence related to Nijjar’s murder with India ”several weeks ago”. Trudeau’s allegations have soured diplomatic relations between India and Canada. India has rejected the allegations outright. Both countries have expelled each other’s diplomats and issued travel advisories for their citizens.
