Bodies of five people who were washed away in floods in Telangana were found on Friday, while eight people are still missing, whose search is on.

Floods have caused huge devastation in Telangana. Many people have been swept away in the water. Bodies of five of these people were found on Friday, while eight people are still missing, whose search is on.
Eight people from Eturnagaram village in Mulugu district were washed away in the Jampanna Vagu. Bodies of four people were found near Medaram in Tadwai mandal. The body of a person who was washed ashore in Khammam district was also recovered on Friday.
The search is on for one more person who was washed away in the Munneru river. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) launched a search for three youths from Warangal city who went missing on Thursday. He had gone fishing near Musical Garden but did not return. After this, his relatives informed the authorities about the matter.
Heavy rains and floods wreaked havoc in northern Telangana on Thursday. Over 100 villages and several low-lying areas in Warangal, Hanumakonda and Khammam towns were inundated as lakes, tanks and irrigation projects were filled with water.
The road connectivity of dozens of villages was cut off due to the sudden flood. NDRF with the help of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and police rescued 1,900 people from Moranchapalli village in Jaishankar Bhupalpally district.
NDRF also rescued seven people stranded in Munneru river in Khammam district. Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari said that 10,696 people from 108 villages have been shifted to safer places.
Shanti Kumari said that 600 people of Moranchapalli village in Bhupalpalli district and 19 workers trapped in a sand mine near Gopalpur in Manthani of Peddapalli district were rescued and shifted to safer places. Meanwhile, over 200 colonies remained submerged in Warangal and Hanumakonda towns.
