A major accident has occurred in Rangareddy district of Telangana. Three people have died and 10 have been seriously injured after the roof of an under-construction indoor stadium collapsed in Moinabad area here. After the accident, rescue operation is being conducted on the spot. Some people are suspected to be buried under the debris of the building. It is said to be a private indoor stadium.
According to Rajendranagar DCP Jagadeshwar Reddy, so far 2 people have died and around 10 are injured after an under-construction private indoor stadium collapsed in Moinabad. One body has been recovered and officials are trying to remove another body from the debris. The injured have been shifted to the local hospital for treatment. The rescue operation is still going on.”
The incident took place at the sports complex being built at Kanakamamidi in Moinabad block, about 40 km from Hyderabad. Migrant laborers from other states were busy in the construction work of the table tennis auditorium when the roof slab collapsed. Six employees suffered minor injuries in the accident. The two deceased were identified as Bablu from Bihar and Sunil from West Bengal.
Police said rescue operations are underway as another employee is trapped under the debris. There were a total of 14 employees at the site and three of them were trapped under the debris. Rescue workers have pulled out a body from the debris. Another rescued employee died on the way to the hospital. The third laborer is still trapped under the debris. The Disaster Response Force is continuing rescue and relief operations.
