Earlier on Tuesday, a group of people set ablaze at least four eateries and scrap shops in Badshahpur area. More than 200 people carrying petrol bottles in different vehicles set them on fire.

A 26-year-old man was killed and a religious place torched in Gurugram’s Sector 57 area, police said, as the violence spread to neighboring Nuh district.

Following the latest incident, the Gurugram Police has appealed to the public not to disturb the law and order situation in the city. ACP (Crime) Varun Dahiya said, “Amid reports of violence in Gurugram, several police personnel have been deployed at prominent places across Gurugram. People can inform Gurugram police about any violence by dialing 112.” “

The Gurugram Police has appealed to the people by tweeting, “We request the public not to worry. There have been some incidents of arson and clashes today, but nothing major. We have beefed up security in sensitive areas and are on alert to maintain peace.”
