Red alert for rain in 8 districts of Uttarakhand, 3 state highways closed in Tehri, about 247 roads in the state blocked

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for rain for 8 districts of Uttarakhand. In view of the Meteorological Department’s alert, the District Magistrates of Dehradun, Pauri, Bageshwar and Haridwar districts have issued holiday orders for classes 1 to 12 and Anganwadi centers.

Vikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Center, said that on August 23 and 24, a red alert has been issued for Tehri, Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar, while Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh and There is a yellow alert for rain in Almora. In these two days, there is a possibility of heavy rains in all the areas across the state. Normal life is affected due to heavy rains in the state.

DM has instructed Chief Education Officer Dehradun and District Program Officer Dehradun to comply with the orders in all educational institutions and Anganwadi centers. Keeping in mind the forecast of heavy rains and the safety of students, Dehradun District Magistrate Sonika has declared a holiday in schools.

In fact, the possibility of landslides in sensitive places increases in heavy rains. This should not lead to any untoward incident. Keeping this in mind, one day holiday has been declared.

On the other hand, due to heavy rains in Tehri district, Rishikesh-Gangotri National Highway 94 is closed due to heavy debris in Bagadhar. The Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway-58 highway has been closed due to debris near Devprayag and Mahadev Chatti.

3 state highways are closed in the district. The district administration has diverted the route by stopping traffic from Chamba and Bhadrakali. 247 roads are closed in the state including Rishikesh Gangotri Highway. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed all the District Magistrates to ensure adequate availability of all food items and medicines in the districts.
