Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, on Thursday, announced to return the honorarium amount of Rs 50,000 each to the 12 rat miners who rescued 41 laborers from the Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarkashi last month. He said that this amount will not do him any good. He would like to give this amount to the workers trapped in the tunnel.

Rat miners said that we respect the Chief Minister. This honor given to us by the Chief Minister is not justified. Rat Miners team member Vakil Hasan said that he does not want to say this at this time. This thing is piercing his mind again and again that CM Dhami has respected him. That is not fair according to them. He said that these Rs 50,000 will not do us any good. We risked our lives and rescued the workers trapped inside the tunnel. The government handed us Rs 50,000 each as a mark of respect.

He further said that we all are still digging pits. Tomorrow also we will do the work of digging pits. Therefore, we would like to give this honorarium to those laborers who were trapped inside the tunnel. He said that we would not like to keep this honor. This is not fair to us.
