मणिपुर हिंसा पर संसद में चर्चा की मांग को लेकर परिसर में लगातर चौथे दिन विपक्षी सांसदों का धरना जारी
Opposition MPs continue their sit-in for the fourth consecutive day in the Parliament premises. Opposition MPs along with Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh are sitting on a dharna. Opposition MPs demand that the government hold a discussion on the Manipur violence in Parliament. Also, PM Modi should come to Parliament and give a statement on this issue. But till now the Manipur issue has not been discussed in the Parliament.
Sitting on the dharna, Congress MP JB Mather said, “Sanjay Singh and Team India have completed the fourth day of dharna outside the Parliament. The demand of the country and Team India is that the Prime Minister should come to the Parliament and give a statement on the Manipur issue and speak in the House.” There should be a detailed discussion on this issue. We have been demanding since July 20, but no discussion was held, nor did the Prime Minister come to the Parliament and give any statement on this issue.
The Congress MP further said, “We have seen many times that those who hold power in their hands resign realizing their responsibility. Manipur has been burning for three months, but no statement has been made by the Prime Minister of the country in any House of the Parliament. Government does not allow discussion in Parliament. Today we are expecting a discussion on the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha.”
Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh said that today is the fourth day of Team India’s protest and we are demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should come to the Parliament and speak on the Manipur issue. Manipur is burning and people are living in relief camps. But PM Modi is comparing INDIA with terrorist groups and saying that he will come to power in 2024. They should at least show some sensitivity.
There is continuous uproar in the Parliament on the issue of brutality meted out to two women in Manipur. On Samovar, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh protested by reaching in front of Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar’s chair in Vel. He was saying something by showing his hand to Dhankhar. After this activity, he was suspended for the entire monsoon session.
