A case of murder and attempt to murder has been registered against BJP candidate Arvind Pateria and his associates on the complaint of Congress candidate Vikram Singh Natiraja in connection with the murder of Congress leader Salman Khan in Chhatarpur district late on Thursday night before voting.

Voting was completed on all 230 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh on Friday amid incidents of violence at many places. According to the data till 5 pm, 71.16 percent people in the state exercised their franchise. The highest turnout was in Agar Malwa at 82 percent. The lowest voting percentage was in Alirajpur at 56.24%. With this, the fate of all the 2534 candidates contesting the elections was sealed in EVMs. Now the public’s decision will be known after the counting of votes on December 3. In this, 2533 candidates including 252 women and one of third gender were in the fray.
In Madhya Pradesh, the highest turnout was in Agar Malwa at 82 percent. The lowest vote share was in Alirajpur at 56.24%. Apart from this, if we talk about major areas, 59.19% voting took place in Bhopal, 64.95% in Indore, 61.64% in Gwalior, 66.24% in Jabalpur, 80.02% in Ratlam and 73.37% in Ujjain district. According to the Election Commission, queues continued even after 6 pm due to people standing in queues at many places. Therefore the final voting figure may increase.
Today, many incidents of violence and clashes were seen in the state before and during voting. It is alleged that the associates of Pateria, the BJP candidate from Rajnagar assembly constituency, tried to kill Congress candidate Vikram Singh and his supporters by running over them with a vehicle, in which Salman Khan got injured. He was taken to Chhatarpur Hospital in critical condition, where he died. A case has been registered against BJP candidate Patria and his associates under various sections including sections 302, 307.
Here, after the voting, there was a dispute on the seat of Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar i.e. in Dimani Assembly. Here, male and female voters of Badapura village have surrounded Dimani police station. They allege that people of a particular community were forced to vote in favor of BJP. Besides, for not voting in favor of BJP, he was beaten up and also accused of not allowing him to cast his vote. The incident took place at polling booth 191, where hundreds of villagers reached the police station after not being able to vote.
During the voting, a Congress worker complained about fake voting to the Collector at Ganesh Vidya Mandir booth number 68 in Bairagarh, Bhopal. Also, Congress workers created ruckus in Bairagarh ghost number 68 by accusing the officials of conducting fake voting. After this, Congress candidate Naresh Gyanchandani reached the spot. A complaint was lodged by calling Bhopal Collector Ashish Singh. In Gwalior, BJP candidate Maya Singh, Congress candidate Satish Sikarwar’s brother Neetu Sikarwar and Pitamber Singh and Atish Goyal, son of former MLA Munnalal Goyal, were put under house arrest by Additional SP Rishikesh Meena.
