Himachal Pradesh has witnessed a spate of rain and floods. The news of death of 13 people is coming in the state in 24 hours. According to the information received by the State Disaster Management Officer, the death toll in Himachal Pradesh has gone up to 361 since June 24.

The rains have damaged roads, triggered landslides and uprooted many trees. Many houses have collapsed. In Kullu district, 8 buildings collapsed due to rain on Thursday. No casualty was reported in the building collapse incident in Anni area. These were the buildings in which they were evacuated after developing deep cracks.

According to state disaster management officials, 40 people are missing and 342 injured while 9,924 houses have been partially damaged in the state so far due to the onset of monsoon season. On the other hand, NDRF team reached the spot after the cloudburst in Shehnu Gouni and Kholanala villages of Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh and rescued 51 people trapped here.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday claimed that the state has suffered a loss of around Rs 12,000 crore so far due to heavy rains. Rain continues to wreak havoc in many parts of Himachal Pradesh.
