A fire broke out in the basement of a multi-storey hospital in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad city, after which around 100 patients were safely evacuated from the hospital as a precautionary measure. An officer of Sahibagh police station said that according to preliminary information, a fire broke out in the basement of Rajasthan Hospital at 4.30 am.
Police Inspector MD Champawat said, “Firemen are engaged in extinguishing the fire. Smoke is continuously coming out from the basement of the hospital. About 100 patients have been taken out of the hospital as a precautionary measure.”
The hospital is run by a charitable trust.
