Mukhtar Ansari has got a big shock from the MP/MLA court of Ghazipur. The court has sentenced Mukhtar Ansari to ten years imprisonment in another gangster case. A fine of Rs 5 lakh has also been imposed.

Even before this, Mukhtar had been sentenced to ten years in prison in another gangster case. Apart from this, Mukhtar Ansari has also been sentenced to life imprisonment in the murder of Awadhesh Rai, brother of Congress state president Ajay Rai. Mukhtar Ansari has been sentenced in seven cases so far.
On Friday, the court of MPMLA Court Judge Arvind Kumar Mishra gave its verdict in the case registered at Karanda police station in Ghazipur. Apart from Mukhtar, Sonu Yadav has also been sentenced. He has been sentenced to five years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2 lakh. During the hearing, Mukhtar was produced from Banda jail through video conferencing. In 2009, a case was registered against Mukhtar under the Gangster Act on the basis of the case of murder of Kapildev Singh, resident of Sabua of Karanda area and attempt to murder of Amir Hasan of Muhammadabad. The arguments of both the parties were completed in the MP/MLA court on 17th October. Both were found guilty on Thursday.
Apart from this, on April 29, 2023, the MP/MLA court had sentenced Mukhtar Ansari to ten years imprisonment in the gangster case registered in 2005 after the murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai. Along with this, a fine of Rs 4 lakh was also imposed.
Hearing is going on in one and a half dozen cases
A total of 61 cases are registered against Mukhtar Ansari, who runs an inter-state gang. Of these, one and a half dozen cases are pending in the court. So far the court has given punishment in six cases. Mukhtar Ansari gang was registered in Ghazipur on 14 October 1997. The gang was registered as IS (Inter-State) 191. There were 22 members then. At present there are 19 members in this gang. There are five cases against Mukhtar in Lucknow, one in Agra, two in Barabanki, one in Punjab and 52 cases in Varanasi and other districts.

Son and brother-in-law are in jail, wife absconding
Mukhtar Ansari’s MLA son Abbas Ansari is currently lodged in Chitrakoot jail. The police is searching for Mukhtar’s wife Afshan Ansari. Apart from this, Mukhtar’s brother-in-law is also lodged in different jails.
Punishment has been given in six cases
Mukhtar Ansari has been previously convicted in six cases. On April 29, 2023, he was sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5 lakh. In December 2022, the court had sentenced 10 years imprisonment in the gangster case. At the same time, the decision in two cases has been given by Lucknow High Court.
The court has already given punishment in these cases
- Life imprisonment on June 5, 2023 in the Awadhesh Rai murder case.
- 10 years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 5 lakh from Ghazipur’s MP/MLA Court ASJ-IV on April 29, 2023 under Gangster Act.
- 10 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5 lakh from the MP/MLA Court of Ghazipur on 15 December 2022 under the Gangster Act.
- Sentenced by Allahabad High Court on 21 September 2022 for threatening and preventing a government employee from working. In the case registered in Alambagh, Lucknow, he was punished with two years’ imprisonment with a fine of Rs 10,000 under section 353, two years’ imprisonment with a fine of Rs 2,000 under section 504 and seven years’ imprisonment with a fine of Rs 25,000 under section 506.
- In the Gangster Act registered in Hazratganj, Lucknow, Allahabad High Court on 23 September 2022 sentenced him to two years of imprisonment with a fine of Rs 10,000.
- In the case registered in New Delhi under Arms Act and 5-Tanda Act, the Court ASJ South District New Delhi sentenced a fine of Rs 5 lakh 50 thousand and 10 years rigorous imprisonment.
The biggest punishment so far in Awadhesh murder case
Mukhtar Ansari has been sentenced to life imprisonment and fine, the biggest punishment so far in the famous Awadhesh Rai murder case of Varanasi. Awadhesh Rai was the elder brother of UP Congress President Ajay Rai. On June 5, the court of the Special Judge (MP-LLA) had sentenced him to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1.20 lakh in the much-discussed Awadhesh Rai murder case of Lahurabir in Varanasi. The verdict came after 31 years and 10 months of the massacre.
Mukhtar Ansari, lodged in Banda jail, is serving life imprisonment in this famous murder case. Let us tell you that on August 3, 1991, Awadhesh Rai was shot dead in broad daylight at the gate of his residence in Lahurabir. Awadhesh Rai’s brother, former MLA Ajay Rai, had lodged an FIR against Mukhtar Ansari, former MLA Abdul Kalam, Kamlesh Singh, Bhim Singh and Rakesh Kumar Srivastava alias Judicial at Chetganj police station.
