उत्तर प्रदेश में हलाल सर्टिफाइड उत्पादों पर बैन के बाद कार्रवाई, छापेमारी जारी

After the ban on Halal certified products by the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh, the Food Safety and Drug Administration teams have swung into action. Four FSDA teams raided 10 shops and stores in five areas on Monday. No sale or stock of Halal certified products was found during this period. According to officials, the raid will continue even today.

FSDA Assistant Commissioner SP Singh said that raids were started in different areas of Lucknow from 12 noon and continued till 4 pm. During this period, raids were conducted in Gomtinagar, Aliganj, Hazratganj, Narhi and Vikasnagar. Raids were conducted at many places including Spencer Fun Mall of Gomtinagar, Burnwal General Store, Apna Mega Mart, The New Retail Shop and Pappu Store of Aliganj. The investigation team also instructed the store operators not to sell products without Halal certification.

On the other hand, Niaz A Farooqui, CEO of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind Halal Trust, condemned the action and called it completely wrong. He said that Halal Trust certificate is given as per the rules and is only for export. Companies exporting products abroad, especially to Muslim countries, obtain certificates. Sugar mills exporting sugar to Malaysia also obtain Halal certificate. He said that we will take this matter to court.

At the same time, former IPS Amitabh Thakur has complained to the National Minorities Commission regarding banning Halal certification in UP. It has been said in the complaint that prima facie the order of the state government does not appear to be legal. It is true that there is no provision for separate Halal certification in the law related to food items, medicines, medical supplies and cosmetics. But, this does not mean that if a person writes or puts up Halal certification then an FIR should be registered against him for doing something illegal.
