Fog stopped the speed of Train and Air traffic, more than 80 flights and 30 trains were running late.

There was dense fog in Delhi on Saturday morning. Due to this, rail, air service and traffic was disrupted. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the city’s minimum temperature was 11.8 degrees Celsius, which is five degrees above average. The IMD said dense to very dense fog is likely over most places of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi till Sunday morning and in some parts for the next three days.

The meteorologist said that at 9 am visibility was recorded at 700 meters at Palam station in Delhi and 400 meters at Safdarjung station. As the day progresses, the fog is expected to gradually clear, due to which the environment will clear by afternoon. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 19 degrees Celsius. Due to the fog, flight and train services are also being affected, with many flights being delayed and some possibly being cancelled.

In the early hours of Saturday, arrivals and departures of more than 80 international and domestic flights faced hours-long delays due to low visibility. In the challenge posed by fog for passengers, many trains coming to Delhi region are also facing delays, causing disappointment among the passengers. At the same time, according to the Railways, a total of 30 trains including Jammu Tawi-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, Mumbai-Nizamuddin August Kranti Rajdhani, Ayodhya Dham- Delhi Junction Express ran late by hours.

Delhi’s air quality remains in ‘severe’ category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), in Anand Vihar area, PM2.5 levels remained in the ‘severe’ category at 429 and PM10 reached 414, and CO was at 107 or ‘moderate’.

The PM2.5 level at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport T3 was 361, which is in the “very poor” category, and the PM10 level was 251, which is in the ‘poor’ category.
