A fire broke out in two trains passing through Madhya Pradesh. The first incident occurred near Gwalior on Saturday, where the engine of Udaipur-Khajuraho Express (19666) caught fire near Sithauli railway station. The loco pilot stopped the train at Sithauli. The fire in the engine was extinguished, after which it was replaced by another engine and the train was dispatched to Khajuraho.
Railway officials reached the spot and doused the fire and brought the situation under control. “There was an incident of fire at Udaipur-Khajuraho Intercity, which was brought under control soon. No casualty was reported,” a senior railway official told IANS.
Earlier, 12724 Telangana Express train from New Delhi to Hyderabad caught fire. The train was going to Nagpur from Pandhurna railway station in Chhindwara. After 1 km from Pandhurna, smoke and flames were seen rising from the pantry car. The train was stopped and the passengers were disembarked. After the fire was extinguished, it was sent onward.
