उत्तराखंड: देहरादून के सुसवा नदी पर बना पुल पर पड़ी दरारें, आवाजाही ठप
Rain is wreaking havoc in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Due to continuous rains, rivers and streams are in spate. Due to heavy rains, incidents of landslides are coming to the fore in many areas. Due to the rains in the mountains, the rivers are also seeing a fierce form. On the one hand in Rishikesh, due to rise in the water level of Ganga, landslide is taking place near Ramjhula bridge. So on the other hand there are many such small bridges where cracks have started appearing. One of these is the Bullawala bridge located in Dehradun.
Let us tell you, due to heavy rains in the capital Dehradun, bridges are getting damaged due to strong current and erosion. At the same time, the Bullawala bridge on the Suswa river has also been damaged due to the strong current, after which the entry of heavy vehicles has been stopped. Cracks have also appeared between the bridge’s approach road and the bridge. Despite the cracks in the bridge, heavy vehicles were plying. Now the entry of heavy vehicles on this bridge from Lonivi has been completely stopped.
On the other hand, due to the rise in the water level of Ganga due to heavy rains, the abutment of the bridge has started getting damaged at the district Tehri end of the Ramjhula bridge in Rishikesh. Taking precautions from the administration, the movement on the bridge has been stopped till further orders. Inspector-in-charge Ritesh Shah told that the team of Public Works Department has been called on the spot. This step has been taken due to erosion under the bridge. Movement on the bridge has been stopped due to landslides happening under the Ramjhula bridge. A large number of tourists and local citizens are reaching here to go to the Swarg Ashram area, which is being sent ahead through Janki Setu. Under the bridge, erosion has taken place up to 30 meters.
The water level of the Ganga is still rising due to which the erosion is continuously increasing. Janaki Setu is now the only option left to connect Munikireti and Swargashram-Laxman Jhula. Earlier, Laxman Jhula bridge was closed for movement on 13 July 2019 after the safety audit report.
