Karnataka Police has registered a case against party BJP worker Shankuntala Nataraj, associated with the BJP media cell. Nataraj is accused of spreading false news of insult to the Indian tricolor at Lulu Mall in Kochi, Kerala.
Police said on Saturday that Shankuntala Nataraj had posted a post in this regard on social media. Jaynagar police of Tumakuru city has taken suo motu cognizance and registered a case under section 153 (B) of IPC against the BJP worker. The police have also issued a notice, asking them to appear before the investigating officer for questioning.
