The police had gone to raid the hideout of liquor smugglers in Garha OP of Muzaffarpur, Bihar. Seeing the police, there was a stampede in the village. During this time, Pintu Yadav alias Chunchun died due to drowning in a pit filled with water. After this the crowd got angry. The crowd created a ruckus. Angry villagers reached the police station and attacked. During this, there was a lot of vandalism in the police station. Two four-wheelers, half a dozen bikes and a nearby hut parked in the police station premises were set on fire by the villagers.

After the attack by the villagers, police officers and fire brigade team reached the spot and brought the fire under control. According to City Police Superintendent Arvind Pratap Singh, after the death of the youth the villagers got enraged and created a ruckus. He told that the police had gone to arrest the liquor businessman in Muzaffarpur. As soon as they saw the police, the liquor traders started running away. Meanwhile, Pintu Yadav alias Chunchun of Rampur Jaipal village died due to drowning in water. Angered by the death of the young man, the villagers attacked the police station.
