Bank Strike | दिसंबर से जनवरी तक बैंक कर्मचारी करेंगे हड़ताल, मोदी सरकार से नाराज
The All India Bank Employees Association, the largest employee union in the banking sector, has called for a series of strikes across the country between December 4 and January 20, 2024, demanding recruitment of employees.
“There is a deliberate effort by the government and banks to reduce the number of employees in clerical and subordinate cadres and increase the number of supervisory staff in banks,” said CH Venkatachalam, general secretary, All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA). The idea is very clear that they want fewer workers who are governed by the Industrial Disputes Act.”
Similarly, we have also observed that a desperate attempt is being made to outsource regular and permanent jobs in banks on contract basis to avoid payment of salaries as per our bilateral agreement.
Due to this, there has been a huge decline year on year in the recruitment of clerical staff in banks and there is almost a ban on the appointment of subordinate staff and cleaning staff. He further said, “This has resulted in a large number of people being employed on a temporary and casual basis without proper remuneration.”
AIBEA has announced strike in various nationalized and private banks from 4-11 December and bankers will go on strike in various states from 2-6 January. After this, there will be a two-day all India bankers’ strike on January 19-20, 2024.
