A massive fire broke out in a food warehouse in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh

The CFO said that due to the collapse of the tin shed of the godown due to the presence of huge quantity of oil, ghee and other products, the fire spread rapidly within the premises.

A massive fire broke out in a food warehouse located in Rasulpur of Behat area in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh on the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday. 12 fire engines were deployed to extinguish the fire. Even after more than nine hours of hard work, the fire could not be controlled.

It is a matter of relief that there was no casualty in the accident, but the entire stock of flour, sugar, ghee and oil kept in the warehouse was completely burnt to ashes, due to which a loss of crores of rupees is being feared.

Nearby establishments first noticed the flames around 1 am on Saturday night, following which they immediately informed the local fire service department. Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Pratap Singh said that the fire station received information about the fire at around 1 am on the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday.

On receiving the information, 12 fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the spot. The fire was very intense, so help was sought from fire brigades of nearby districts Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Shamli, Amroha, Bijnor. Teams of all the district fire brigades have reached the spot. The fire will be controlled soon.
