“While scanning the CCTV cameras, two suspects have been identified who were seen roaming near the incident site on Tuesday evening,” a Delhi Police source said on Wednesday. He said they are scanning cameras in the area to identify and locate the duo.
Meanwhile, police have tightened security measures around Khabad House in Paharganj, where a large number of Israelis live.
Security agencies in Delhi were left on edge after receiving an emergency call reporting an ‘explosion’ near the Israeli Embassy in Chanakyapuri on Tuesday.
Following an extensive search operation, sources confirmed the discovery of possible evidence, including a typed letter addressed to the Israeli ambassador to India.
When asked about the contents of the letter, officials avoided giving details.
According to Delhi Fire Service (DFS), “A call was received around 5:45 pm reporting an explosion near the Israel Embassy in Delhi. A fire tender was immediately sent to the spot.”
Delhi Police said in a statement that a PCR call at 5:53 pm on Tuesday revealed that “a loud noise was heard from behind the Israeli Embassy”.
A Delhi Police spokesperson said, “Considering the sensitivity of the site and reports of an explosion-like sound, a dog squad, crime team and bomb disposal squad of Delhi Police were sent to the spot from where the alleged explosion sound was reported.” Was found.”

Israel’s deputy chief of mission in India, Ohad Nakash Kaynar, said in a video statement: “An explosion occurred near the embassy several minutes after 5 pm today. All our staff and diplomats are safe. Our security teams are working closely with local security forces. “We are working fully cooperatively with them and will investigate the matter.”
An eyewitness claimed he heard a bang and saw smoke outside the Israel Embassy in Chanakyapuri.
The eyewitness, who works as a guard at a compound near the embassy, said, “At around 5 pm when I was on duty, I heard a loud sound like a tire burst. As soon as I came out, I saw smoke coming from the top of a tree near the campus. The police have recorded my statement.
According to eyewitnesses, the blast took place on an empty land located in front of the Central Training Hindi Institute and behind the Israel Embassy.
Recall, in January 2021, there was a minor explosion near the Israeli Embassy, which damaged several vehicles.
