राष्ट्रगान के अपमान मामले में 12 BJP विधायकों को कोलकाता पुलिस ने किया तलब
West Bengal’s Kolkata Police on Friday issued summons to 12 BJP MLAs for questioning in connection with complaints registered against them for insulting the national anthem inside the state assembly complex. The MLAs have been asked to be present at the city police headquarters in Lal Bazaar central Kolkata on December 4. However, it is not yet clear whether the BJP leader will be present at the city police headquarters on December 4 or not.
Confirming the receipt of the notice, BJP MLA from Siliguri in Darjeeling district Shankar Ghosh said any decision on the matter would be taken by the BJP legislature party in West Bengal after discussion with Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Suvendu Adhikari.
“This is a deliberate attempt by the ruling Trinamool Congress in collusion with the city police,” Ghosh said. The opposition leader has claimed that he is considering moving the court and discussing the matter with his legal advisors.
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress has indicated that they may table a resolution during the ongoing winter session of the House to condemn the desecration of the national anthem by BJP MLAs. Following a complaint by three Trinamool Congress MLAs in this regard, an FIR was registered against 12 BJP MLAs at Hare Street police station in Central Kolkata on Thursday. The complaint was that when ruling Trinamool Congress workers were singing the national anthem in the state assembly complex on Wednesday, the BJP leader started raising slogans of “chor-chor”.
