बिहार के बाद अब राजस्थान में होगा जातिगत सर्वे, राज्य सरकार ने जारी किया आदेश

Rajasthan government has issued an order to conduct caste survey in the state. The order issued by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment on Saturday night comes ahead of Bihar releasing the findings of its caste survey and the upcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had talked about conducting a survey in a program on Saturday evening, which according to political experts, is being considered as a big bet of the government before the code of conduct. The survey will collect information and data regarding social, economic and educational level of citizens.

By studying these data, the backwardness of the societies will be assessed. Improvement plans will be made accordingly. The government claims that such schemes will improve the standard of living of such backward classes. The state cabinet had taken a decision in this regard, after which Dr. Samit Sharma, Secretary of Social Justice and Empowerment Department, issued the order.

According to the order, Survey Work Planning Department will be the nodal department. For the survey, Collectors will be able to take the services of employees of various departments at the Municipality, City Council, Corporation, Village and Panchayat level. The nodal department will prepare the questionnaire. It will mention those subjects so that complete information about the social, economic and educational level of every person can be obtained.

Information and data will be fed online. DoIT will also create separate special software and mobile app for this. Officials said the department will keep the information secure.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh posted on Twitter, “When Bharat Jodo Yatra was in Rajasthan, delegations from many communities met Rahul Gandhi. During that time the OBC delegation had specifically raised the demand for caste census. Rahul Gandhi took his words very seriously.”

Jaram Ramesh further said, “Now the Rajasthan government has decided to conduct a caste-based survey in accordance with their sentiments. This is a welcome step. This will especially help in making policies for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes. It is also very important to ensure social justice and population sharing.

He said, “The question is why such initiatives are not being taken in any BJP ruled state and why is the Prime Minister silent on the issue of caste census?”

On the caste census, Rajasthan government minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said, “There should be no conflict and no discrimination in the name of caste. When the census is conducted, caste is written. The caste census has been announced by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. .
