Special Protection Group (SPG) chief Arun Kumar Sinha has passed away at Medanta Hospital. According to reports, the SPG director was battling cancer for more than a year. Sinha, a 1997 Kerala cadre IPS officer, was recently given an extension of one year. He was working as SPG director since 2016.
Arun Kumar Sinha did his studies from Jharkhand and worked in many important positions in his career. He worked in different positions and ranks only and only in Kerala. He served as DCP Commissioner of Kerala Police, Intelligence IG and Administration IG in Thiruvananthapuram. He also solved the case of Maldivian President Abdul Gayoom’s assassination and caught the accused in the case from Delhi. At that time Sinha was holding the post of law and order in-charge of Kerala.
