A shoe was thrown at Swami Prasad Maurya during the Samajwadi Party’s OBC convention. A man named Akash Saini disguised as a lawyer threw this shoe at Swami Prasad. SP and Maurya supporters present at the spot caught the attacker and beat him severely. The police caught the youth and took him away. Swami Prasad Maurya narrowly escaped the attack.
The video of the case is going viral on social media. Swamy had arrived to attend the Backward Classes General Conference of the SP. He was going inside after getting out of the car, when a young man dressed as a lawyer attacked him with a shoe.
The shoe fell away touching Swami Prasad. There was an uproar in the conference. The SP workers caught the youth and beat him severely. The youth has been identified as Akash Saini.
He says he was hurt by Swami Prasad Maurya’s comments about Hinduism. The police reached and rescued Akash from the workers. He was taken into custody. He was interrogated when he regained consciousness. He just said that we are worshippers. After this, the police took him away from the premises. Now he is being interrogated in detail.
