Accident | Tehri amidst heavy rains in Uttarakhand, two children died due to collapse of house wall

Due to heavy rains in village Maroda of Tehsil Dhanaulti of Tehri district in Uttarakhand, 2 children buried in a pile of debris have died due to collapse of the house wall. As soon as the information was received, District Magistrate Mayur Dixit reached the spot. Regarding the incident, the District Magistrate said that due to heavy rains, a huge amount of water increased in the donkey, due to which the wall of the house collapsed and a major accident took place.

Expressing grief over the accident, the District Magistrate has said that according to the local people, there had been a disaster in the past as well. The concerned department will be directed immediately to take preventive measures so that such incidents do not happen again. The District Magistrate, while giving instructions to the said affected family to provide accommodation under the Atal Awas Yojana, also directed to identify the families which are in danger.

After the accident, where there has been uproar in the family, there is a wave of mourning in the area. According to the information, the wall behind the house of Praveen Das got breached due to heavy rains. The children’s grandfather Premdas (60 years) was also sleeping in the same room. His leg was also injured in this accident.

It is being told that during this time the parents of the children were sleeping in another room. Regarding the incident, Chamba Police Station President LS Butola said that there was heavy rain in the area during the night. As soon as the information about the incident was received, revenue sub-inspector Lvarkha and the soldiers of Satyo police post reached the spot.

The children buried in the pile of debris were taken out, both the children were taken to PHC Satyo with the help of 108 where the doctor declared both the children Kumari Sneha (12 years) and Ranvir’s son (10 years) dead.
