Earthquake tremors were felt in the Philippines. The intensity of the earthquake was measured at 7.6 on the Richter scale. One person died and two others were injured in this incident. According to the report of Xinhua news agency, the local disaster relief office said that a woman died after the wall of her house collapsed in Tagum city of Davao del Norte province, while her husband and child were injured.

The institute said the earthquake, which struck at 10.37 pm on Saturday, occurred about 30 km northeast of Hintuan city at a depth of 25 km. The institute said the tectonic earthquake felt across Mindanao island and parts of the central Philippines would cause damage.
The institute has recorded more than 500 tremors till Sunday morning, some of which were above intensity 5 and 6. The institute also issued a tsunami warning on Saturday night, forcing residents living in coastal areas close to the epicenter to evacuate to higher ground or move inland.
Residents returned home after the tsunami warning was lifted by the institute. The Philippine Coast Guard said Sunday morning that all ships and aircraft were put on alert to be ready to depart.
Last month, a magnitude 6.8 offshore earthquake struck about 34 km northwest of Sarangani city at a depth of 72 km, causing at least nine deaths, according to officials. Due to its location along the Pacific “Ring of Fire”, the archipelago Philippines is prone to frequent seismic activity.
