6 workers die as brick kiln wall collapses in Uttarakhand’s Roorkee

A tragic accident took place in Roorkee, Haridwar on Tuesday. Here, 6 people have died in a brick kiln in Lahaboli village of Magalur Kotwali, Haridwar, while 2 people are undergoing treatment in Roorkee hospital.

Actually, this accident happened due to the collapse of the brick kiln wall in Lahaboli village of Magalur Kotwali on Tuesday morning. Dozens of workers were buried under the wall of the brick kiln after it collapsed.

This accident happened while filling bricks for baking bricks.

As soon as the administration received information about this incident, the police reached the spot and with the help of the local people pulled out the people buried under the wall. At the time of rescue, 5 bodies were taken out. Three people are seriously injured, who have been admitted to Vinay Vishal Hospital in Roorkee for treatment.

Another injured person died during treatment. Currently, two seriously injured are undergoing treatment at Vinay Vishal Hospital in Roorkee.

A carcass of a cattle has also been recovered from the debris.

It is being told that due to cold in the rural areas, people working in the kiln were warming their hands. At present, the work of removing debris from JCB is going on. The police administration team including Haridwar DM and SSP is on the spot and is taking stock of the incident site and finding out the reasons for the incident.
