Maui County was quoted as saying by CNN that the missing persons list prepared by the FBI includes 388 names. Efforts are ongoing to locate these individuals. “We are releasing this list of names because it will aid in the investigation,” Police Chief John Pelletier said in a statement.

Hawaii Gov. Josh Green said Thursday that the FBI was working with agencies to locate the missing.

The historic town of Lahaina was left in ruins and businesses turned to ashes after a wind-driven blaze fanned the island of Maui on August 8, CNN reported. Maui County officials said the search was ongoing.
